The thrill of the Traditional Auction at Dawsons
There’s no magic trick, or one weird secret to get you loads of followers. It takes effort, patience, and buy-in from your team to make it a roaring success and get you seeing an increasing return on your investment. When we started working with Dawsons Property in June 2018, we knew immediately that they were fully prepared to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in with us from the get go, and their results speak for themselves.
Their marketing manager Naomi Webborn joins our weekly zoom meeting where we discuss local and national trends and ensure that the content we are planning for the coming week is spot on! We love working with Dawsons, they really value the work we do, they are all invested in building their digital presence and they believe in us at JP Gardner & Associates.
Dawsons Property were really enthusiastic about working with us on their digital marketing offering – their success is truly a team effort, and we love working with them. From the day we started working on their social accounts, we have built a tremendous relationship with the entire team, visiting (when travel was allowed) regularly, really getting to know the team members, the directors and having a complete understanding of their vision, their voice, and their ethos. In order for us to become genuine team members, we needed to know how their thought process worked, and this has grown stronger and stronger every day of our journey together.
Dawsons have a reward card scheme for their customers, and there are lots of fantastic local businesses involved. We’ve made sure to push these on social media, tagging and engaging with the businesses which has helped build up a fantastic local following. And our content is fun! Whenever possible we travel to Swansea and meet with local Reward Card businesses, get them onto our social media platforms and promote their business, which works both ways in a local community.

We have weekly video calls with the wonderful Naomi, to discuss any upcoming events, sponsorships, charity work, what’s been going on in the office, and during Covid-19 we’ve been making sure we’re absolutely on it with any changes in restrictions imposed by the Welsh government. There’s also a Whatsapp group where photos can be sent, and ideas can ping back and forth. When we are able to visit we schedule in 2 day meetings, visiting the offices, attending the marketing meeting, producing video content, taking lots of photos and really getting to know everyone and the areas covered.
Watch a spooky Halloween video we made (and starred in)Although it’s very difficult to replicate the adrenaline-fuelled excitement of a packed auction-room, we’ve worked with the Dawsons Auction Team to live stream the last few minutes of each property sold via auction including a Q & A about the process. By doing this, more people have seen what property auctions entail, and Dawsons have won instructions based on people watching these livestreams! When we are able to visit, Jane loves nothing more than being out on the auction floor, being a runner and getting to chat with all of the property buyers and sellers.
